Not knowing anything about RMG products, I devised my own solution
1) winch motor and gearbox from ALIEXPRESS for about $25 CAD
2) wooden rings, available from most handicraft outlets for pennies each piece
3) couplers
4) framing that anybody around here can build
12 volt, completely separate power source
DPDT switches to the servos
HITEC 645MG servos
Lifts 2KG weight, 1.2 metres, in 10 seconds
different ratio gearboxes available

I had a longtalk to the UK supplier, who said there should be no problems with voltage or current, but I will confirm before I buy.....
The RMG uses the direct battery for power, and I don't know if the Stinger is the same, I'm keen to find out, particularly as RMGs are getting rare due to manufacturing problems.

I have followed a recommendation to check out the "Red Ant" website, and contacted their UK supplier for details on the "Stinger" sail winch.
I'm very impressed, and will be getting one soon.

Hi be careful of values of torque given as just 25 Kg. The unit should state the torque value in Nm ( Newton metres) or kgm or kgcm for example.Torque is a function of radius. The larger the drum diameter, or the longer a servo arm is the smaller the pulling force gets.They should state at what radius the 25Kg is measured at.

I need a sturdy sail winch too. I’ve never used Ali Express before but noticed that they are selling a Kingmax SW22HV which is metal geared, waterproof, is programmable from 1.5 turns to 7 turns and around 25kg of torque. They give a ridiculous discount for first purchase so with tax and delivery I’ve got three for around £27. I’m not one for dealing with these Chinese sites but this seemed too good to miss. Delivery within 14 days.

Thanks to everyone for the good info.
It looks as though what I will need is an RMG, or the cheaper Italian alternative, to get the amount of sheeting I need with the speed and torque.
Anyone have an RMG they want to sell? 🤣

I agree just looked at the spec on Howes and Leeds model shop website it’s a servo not a drum winch.
