trawler Boulogne Etaples 1/10ème

Hey Doug,
Everyone makes models at their own level; you have nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to your builds. There are people much better at this than me.

trawler Boulogne Etaples 1/10ème

I've run out of suitable adjectives🤔 ... sauf peut-être magnifique👍
I think I'm going to have to give up model ship/boat building and take up 10 pin bowling again!
(Used to be a German national league player and Vice Champion Munich. Beaten by one strike😠)
Au revoir et bon nuit, Doug😎
Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug

Boat specifications:
1.10 m long and 0.39 cm wide, with a total weight of 28 kg in running order.
The diesel sounder is made from a 6V motor, a piece of plywood, and a yogurt container. The cam makes the nylon part beat.
The radar scope is functional, powered by a servo motor.
With its large size, the boat is imposing on the water, and its handling is very realistic while sailing.
The oil drums are made with silicone tubing and electrical wire. The sailor fills a lobster tank, and the water circulates with a pump.
The two seagulls flying over the gantry (on thin, barely visible piano wires, they move with the boat's movement)
He can lower his nets into the water and pull them up to simulate a fishing tide.
The boat is simply aged with real rust. The technique consists of first applying colorless matte varnish to the areas you want to age and then sprinkling with rust dust that you have previously made by letting "triple 0" steel wool rust, for example Rasco steel wool. Let it dry and remove the excess. By sanding in certain areas, the paint will reappear. Before aging your model, you must do tests on ordinary pieces of painted wood, to avoid the risk of damaging the boat. Be careful, patination is a delicate operation that requires a lot of observation on real trawlers, because we have no room for error.
