In our 120 year old club the kmyca we have even a separate division for boats with steampower. The only thing is that in general the average age is around 70 but in the steam division it’s a 104 years old😂

Alessandro,
The steam-powered boat and its two pictured sister boats are all scratch-built by a club member.
He has a friend in Norway who has a full-sized boat that the Sunita (the bottom of the 3 in the picture) is an exact model of.
The 3 boats use the same hull, and represent the variations of that boat/hull that are popular in Norway.
Each boat is built true to the original, down to the 1200 tiny brass rivets holding the lapstrake planking on.
He has done a masterful job creating these boats.
Dick can be seen in several of the pictures; he is the older gentleman in a blue shirt, seen talking to spectators about his boats. Dick is in his mid-nineties and is as spry and quick-witted as most 30-year-olds. He is on his feet all day explaining in detail his boats to anybody who shows interest.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
The "Edina Model Yacht Club" was again invited to have a booth at the Boat Show put on by the Legacy of the Lakes Classic Boat Museum in Alexandria, MN. We were originally allotted 20' for our canopy, but spilled out both ends ... using about 30' for our display. We had 9 members displaying boats and manning the booth. We generated a LOT of interest in model boats among the spectators. This is our 4th year displaying at this show. We heard comments from more than one person that the reason they come to the show is to see our boats! The venue is convenient for us to run boats, and the folks running the show scheduled 4 times throughout the day for us to be "on the water". They had a PA system set up to announce events, and we received quite a few positive mentions from the announcer throughout the day.
The gorgeous 1964 Chris Craft Super Sport in the last picture was built by one of our club members, and donated to the Museum to be sold in an auction with proceeds going to the museum.
It was a very positive event for us.

PS The cute blonde in the pictures is my lovely wife, who tolerates my model boat habit. 😁 I'm the guy holding up the rubber duck.
PPS The 1964 chris Craft Super Sport final bid was $1,320 on the online benefit auction. All proceeds went to the Legacy of the Lakes Boat Museum.
