Hermank, I added a couple of additional pictures to the original post, which show more details. If you would like, private message me and I can put you in contact with the club member who built the control consoles (or helms if you prefer). I'm sure he will be glad to share greater details about their construction. Dave B

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
DW Brinkman a good evening Would it be possible to sent a drawing of yourโtransmitter and speed controlโ because yours is even more captain a like. Thanks in advance Herman

That is the reason the Edina Model Yacht Club added our two Vac-U-Tugs. They are stable, the battery lasts a long time, the consoles we have built make "piloting" easy and safe (can't be accidentally dropped in the pond ... LOL). The steering and throttle are spring-loaded to return to the neutral position if a youngster gets distracted or walks away. AND, the young crowd LOVES them! We have a line waiting to use them at every event we have them present. Dave B

Hi Hermank I always do the same when I sail my boats. It doesn't take long and the first kids come running. They are always allowed to take the transmitter in their hands and drive.

Gentlemen skippers Yesterday we had our monthly club competition for steamdriven modelboats. Every time we announce the event on 2 different websites what people can do in Antwerp that specific day.yesterday we had a couple of families with youngsters who came to visit us.one couple has taken the train from Holland to Antwerp and read about the competition and visited us. We gave the young man the transmitter of a model and he has been navigating for over an hour!! And last but not least the mother took over and enjoyed herself! We were wondering have we finally broke the circle and will youngsters have found a new hobby instead of blโฆ.tik-tok
