Thanks so much, Pat, that will be very helpful.

I also enjoy reading other languages' names.

So our "brigantino" is your brig,
while our "brigantino goletta" [brigantine-schooneris] your brigantine.

The original one, around 2008-2010..😁. I nearly left the shaft brake on when starting the port engine, luckily I looked at the engine prestart list before pushing the button...

No offense, Pat.

In Italy, a two-masted sailing ship with square sails is called a "Brigantino." I'm absolutely certain of that.
Unfortunately, if I type the word "brigantino" into the translator, it comes up with the word "brigantine" instead of "brig".

This information you gave me is very useful and interesting.
I must try to remember it.
If I'm wrong again, please correct me again.
I won't be offended at all, but I will thank you.

If you can and if you want, send me a photo and a drawing for the brig and one for the brigantine.

Well done to those that took part you all named the ships correctly so Bravo Zulu on that but and please don't take offence Alessandro but all three have two masts with square sails on both masts which makes them Brigs a Brigantine has two mast with squares on the fore mast and fore and aft sails on the main.

Hi Pat.

You've chosen three brigantines.
Beautiful.

The Jolie Brise was famous. I think I've seen these in books or videos, but to give an answer I had to resort to the internet.
I'm attaching the links to Wikipedia and Sail Training International.

Fryderyk Chopin:
It's a brigantine, a sailing vessel with two square-rigged masts.
It was built in 1990 at the Dora shipyard in Gdynia, Poland, designed by Zygmunt Choreń.
It has a steel hull, a length of 55.50 meters, and a sail area of 1,200 square meters.
It is used as a training vessel, carrying a mixed crew that includes young students from nautical institutes.
It sails under the Polish flag.

TS Royalist

The Royalist is a barque with a gross tonnage of 83 tons, a hull length of 23.32 meters (76 feet 6 inches), and an overall length of 29.52 meters (96 feet 10 inches). In addition to the sails, she is equipped with two Perkins diesel engines of 110 kilowatts (150 hp) each. The engines drive twin-screw propellers.

Morgenster (ship)
Morgenster (Dutch for "Morning Star") is a sail training vessel based in the Netherlands. She was built as a herring lugger under the name De Vrouw Maria in 1919. In 1927, she was lengthened by 7 meters (23 feet) and converted into a motor trawler. She was renamed Morgenster in 1959 and continued to be used as a fishing vessel until 1970. After a period of use for sport fishing and pirate radio, she was acquired by her current owners and converted into a sailing vessel in 1983. She made her maiden voyage as a sail training ship in 2008, after being refitted as a brigantine.

Fryderyk Chopin ( I think due to Polska on the one sail)🤔

TS Royalist

Morgenster - which is an excellent wine farm in South Africa as well (This is a guess due to the Dutch flag)
