I use the EES one and dual for my sounds in tracked and wheeled as well as boat (although sounds are limited but pretty good)

Thanks Tim. That worked! Could not get it to work on my phone but it came up on my PC. Interesting. Even watched some of the videos.
One of my many plans is to build a 1/16 semi truck with a new flat bed (probably a low boy) trailer. The existing one is too close to the ground. I have two that I got on sale, called "Big Farm" by ERTL. This would be compatible with my RC tank stuff as well as my Springer tugs all being the same scale. The semi would need an RC conversion as well as sound.

It's an interesting project but a bit over top for me as I just want my boat to make a reasonable sound nothing else.
Once again Lew, thanks for the input. I'm not really bothered about the quality, as long as it makes a noise that sounds recognisable as a ship underway. radu0's idea is wonderful if I wanted to make a variety of sounds like brakes, horn, engine changes etc. The system I have is ok, I just want a sound sample appropriate to a WWII Trawler. As you point out the quality of the sound depends on the quality of the speaker and housing. The price of a good cube speaker is more than I want to pay for this project.

Boat sounds from a module rarely sound like the real boat. The is (was?) a company in Canada that had an impressive sounding unit, at least on a fellow model boaters. It was probably one or the best sounds I've ever heard and it must have been the speakers that were used.

Many thanks for the prompt reply Stephen, I had a look at the loco sounds and have downloaded a few samples which sound very promising.The only problem is that I don't know how accurate they are, Perhaps I'm turning into a rivet counter. I think the boat was steam rather than Diesel, however diesel sounds more authentic.
