Hi EdW, I'll just jokingly tell you this: the period in which dinosaurs arose, evolved, and then disappeared is the Mesozoic Era (divided into three eras: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous).
This period lasted about 186 million years.
It's estimated that dinosaurs (excluding birds) lasted 165 million years.
Humans (Homo sapiens) have been on earth for only 300,000 years; the genus Homo has been on earth for 2.5 million years.
Hominids appeared about 4 million years ago.

In short, I'd be cautious with dinosaurs; for now, they're winning by a landslide (165 to 4).
We can surpass them, but that remains to be seen, hahaha.

When I googled about dinosaurs I came across an article "Will we see a Jurassic Park?" In that film it is 30 years old now, some dna was found to produce the animals.

However, that may not be the way it could work. Some scientists say that some genes suppress the growth of what would have been an old version of the animal.

If these genes were suppressed and I suspect enough of them you may be able to produce a prehistoric animal as long as you have a descendant.

The bird population are descended from that era of animals and the obvious ones to work on are chickens. Whether this is ethically OK is another matter but some oddities have been produced via fertilised eggs.

Never mind the lack of hobbies, it would not equate with being big is a good thing.

I googled as to high long the big dinosaurs lived and the answer was surprising. They had to grow very fast but then adulthood did not last very long.

Estimates are about 50 years life span but with so many survival problems the smaller ones just 5 or so years.

Oddly earlier in the day I asked how long I would live? From a statistical point of view in the UK for a man it is 79 years.
Clearly the older you are the longer you will live.

Then you find there are several questionaires and I opted the one that reckoned on 107 years! But having a friend who I saw regularly before and after he was 100, which is a milestone.

He thought it was a bit downhill from then on as most if not all your mates are dead. He died just before he was 104, but well looked after by his family.

So the moral of this story is, if you do not want to be old and lonely choose younger friends!

Dinosaurs didn't have Model Hobbies and look how that turned out.
