Interesting sail on this Catboat

Fully battened sails are not unusual, especially in racing dinghies. Carbon fibre 'wings' have now taken over a lot of what were fully battened sails, on those more unrestricted classes. I would class the sail on the catboat, more by its shape which would be a gaff rigged gunter, although a true gunter would have the gaff vertical and tight to the mast.

Interesting sail on this Catboat

Lately I’ve been cruising through the various posts on YouTube where I watched this video for a Catboat. It has an interesting sail design with battens running the full length of the sail.

Anyone know the name of this particular sail design & why it is made like this?
