Wanted 540 Outboard motor

I'm looking for a 540 outboard motor. I'd prefer the Dolphin outboard that came with Kyosho boats if possible though would accept others too like the Graupner GTX series.

Thank You

Scott,
One of our local club members has designed and is offering a 3D printed outboard.
There are several club members running these, and they are quite happy with them.
It is designed with steering servo and trim/tilt servo built in, so all it needs is an external ESC.
I'm not sure if this is close to what you are looking for or not, but I thought I'd throw it out as an option.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Here is info I scraped from his website:

I like the idea of having an integral servo for the steering but that seems to be an expensive outboard compared with the TFL I've bought and mentioned on another thread which comes complete with brushless motor and cooling jacket.

I understand that TFL are bringing out another model with a motor housing of a similar shape to that 3D printed one.

Scott has already printed one himself anyway so I'm guessing he is looking for one of the retro ones?

Chris,

I just threw it out there as an option.
I know the person who makes them. I know that he has put a lot into the design and testing.
It has a solid shaft drive with metal gears and bearings in the lower unit. It is designed with an easy access cover to service the lower unit. It comes with 20+ props, so you can match the motor to your boat needs.
It is not inexpensive, but it is an option.
As I've said, I know numerous individuals who are running this motor, and have no problems.
He designed this motor to go with the 3D pontoons he makes. He has been selling RC snowblowers for years.
It's not for everybody, but may be right for somebody.

Wanted 540 Outboard motor

Hi and thanks to everyone who has posted here. I was only away for a few hours and never expected so many replies! That looks a bonnie outboard Dave and i love that design too. Sadly it's a no though as i've just taken possession of two more Kyosho boats and trying to source the correct outboards for them to have them original. I know there will be many Dolphins out there somewhere as the where notorious for snapping shafts after a few runs 😂. To be fair they are junk though for these hulls they are correct,

Kindest Regards

Hi Dave, sorry if I came over as knocking it and your post, that wasn't my intention as it has a lot going for it and it's good to have options.

If I hadn't already bought one I would have considered it. One point though, is like the TFL it has a relatively short shaft and the outboard has to be mounted low as is highlighted in the video.
