Logos etc

Thanks a lot. Plenty of info there to ponder on. All very interesting. it's amazing what this forum comes up with when someone asks a question.
If I used vinyl logos do I still need to varnish over them as I would a water slide transfer?
Thanks again

Hi Chris, i have had a lot of logos boat names etc printer on vinyl, most print shops do it, just give them the font or design and they do the rest, get it done on 5 year colour not the cheep stuff that fades. Mark

My preferred logo paper is the white waterproof adhesive-backed vinyl made by Papilio for inkjet printers. http://www.papilio.com/inkjet%20waterproof%20adhesive%20film%20media.html.
You may find a supplier in the UK - which is where I presume you are. A UV-resistant spray is all that is recommended. its adhesive is far superior to that on waterslide transfer paper.

Logos etc

Hi Both,
I just bought some transfer paper for inkjets via Amazon. Actually came from a UK supplier, couldn't find any in Germany ?🤔
20 A4 sheets for € 15.68.
Good instructions how to stop them smearing, keep your fingers off until they are really really dry and set, and how to transfer and seal them. Gloss or matt varnish, or there are also proprietary transfer 'Fixers'.
haven't tried 'em yet cos the sea Scout hull ain't that far yet!
Will report in the Sea Scout BR blog.

you could do it several ways one would be to print yor design onto water tranfer paper you should be able to do this on a home printer or your local print shop would be able to do it for you hobby craft or a good art shop should have the paper, the other way would be to get them printed onto vinyl which may be a tad more expensive

Logos etc

Hi there,
for my current build I am toying with the idea of some fancy multi coloured, written logos along the sides, and on the transom. These will be to my own design once I can find a suitable multi coloured font. Any ideas how I would then create these and get them onto the model? I can only think of just printing them off and sticking them on the boat, but I can see that being a disaster. I don't think it will be too much of a problem designing them but after that I am floundering.
