Back in 1977 I was a midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. That summer I join a crew that was the sail across the Atlantic Ocean to honor Queen Elizabeth’s 25th anniversary. It took us 77 days at sea, with over 10,000 Nautical miles. This year I was able to finish my scratch build model of Mistral and I am happy to show my fellow hobbyist this great adventure.

I finished a scratch built model of the Naval Academy’s schooner “Mistral”

Back in 1977 I was part of the crew on of the schooner Mistral. The Academy set Mistral to England to honor the Queen’s Silver Anniversary. This model is an scratch built of the ship. We sailed a 10,000 NM transatlantic voyage, from Annapolis, MD, during the summer of 1977.

Just smoked a brushed moter

Took my new boat for its first voyage. Insides:
1. 20-turn Traxxas Brushed stinger
2. XL-5 ESC
3. Traxxas TQ receiver

I run brushed motors on my RC cars put one in my boat. Should a boat be a brushless motor

Hi Trev
Stephen fixed the problem, which was caused by the "&" in the name. Looks like someone has re-added the & as the link no longer works.
Hopefully Stephen will correct

Hi Trev
The club is listed but the link doesn't work. I don't believe you need to have a website as other clubs are listed without such.
Stephen (Fireboat) will know the reason and will be able to fix, but he does work so you will have to wait until he has time.
I will advise Stephen of the issue so please be patient.
It could be that the server doesn't update immediately so the issue may resolve itself.
Thanks for letting us know.

Harbour Posts

Hi Trev
Good to see you have added some models to your harbour.
Our members will benefit more if you could post a pic of each model. You can add a pic or update the post by revisiting whilst you are signed in.
I see you have the larger version of the Dragon force and am interested in seeing a pic of its bigger brother.

Vintage models

I agree but a lot of lakes do not like petrol type engines for fear of pollution. so I am afraid we have to adapt

Vintage models

Since this forum covers more than just fireboats, I am appealing for a subforum for vintage model boats which have not had their lovely old gear ripped out In favour of the usual boring Eastern clone motors, etc.
Is anyone as Interested In this as I am?

It seems to me that far too many lovely old boats are being ruined by being stripped out when they have perfectly usable older motors.
