Now that depends upon whether you are in Devon or Cornwall, Haverlock. I have eaten thick Devon cream that could never be spread over jam of any kind. Whereas apart from passing my driving test in Gunnislake, I haven't been to Cornwall since I was too young to remember anything but hopping from doorway to doorway due to the incessant rain!
Oops, sorry, Andy!

oh and the jam goes on the scone before the clotted cream!!!

That's how it occurs some one makes a statement that may have some tangential relationship and people respond this is a forum of ( generally) rugged individualists who spend a lot of time and money on something the rest of the world considers pointless.

i know it can be annoying but it is human nature to wander to another subject in a conversation particularly when the conversees have knowledge of each other.

Could someone tell me why it is that one starts to read a tread on some subject. Then part of the way through it goes of at a tangent effectively on a completely different matter, which has happened because of some comment that someone has made in the original post.

What might be better is to make a comment that re-directs people to a new thread.

I find it very confusing / annoying when one is trying to read a posts, and then it goes of about something else.
