1/48 scale figures

An update - the maker, Luis, has a facebook page, which he has invited me to view, where he is "printing figures in resin on my own for Customers at a high quality and much better prices."

May be of use to you.

1/48 scale figures

Thanks for the tip Doug.
Just received 10 figures, purchased from the link you sent, working out about £6 each, which includes shipping and handling.
The detail and quality is very good, though the photos don't do them justice.
Very pleased.

Thanks Doug. I've just looked at the link and there is certainly plenty of choice. Just compared the cost with Deans [£6.29 each] and a set of five at Shapeways [£24.13]. Got to be good.

Cheers

Hi Steve,
"As you say, Doug, there always seems to be a dearth of RN crew, whatever the scale."
Shapeways is a good tip though.
Have a look here. A selection of RN Officers, POs and Seamen.
Don't worry about the funny scales shown.
I've looked at several and they can all be done to the scale you want.
I strongly suggest that you contact the maker and discuss the material and surface finish you want before ordering.
Some time ago I bought some 1/35 PTB guns in this 'Frosted' material, and found the surface a bit rough and needing smoothing, with acetone or dichloromethane or similar.
Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Bill
These seem to be just what I'm looking for so if you could find out where they came from, that would be great.
Also, I will take you up on your kind offer of the figure and will pm you with my address.
Thank you and a happy new year.

Hi Steve.
Please find attached photographs of the figures I used on my 1/48 Corvette.
I can’t for the life of me remember where I got them but will dig out the box and get back to you if interested.
Note the photo of the white metal figure... one of which I used and he stands on the stern. This was painted by me.
It is spare to my requirements, so if it is any good to you it’s yours if you give me an address.
Regards Bill.

British and German Afrikakorps WW2 troops make a good basis for navy personnel.
Back in the 60s I shanghaied some of my Airfix British 8th Army and some Afrikakorps for my 1/72 H class destroyer and some 30 years later for my Type 1A U-Boot U25. Cheers, Doug 😎

You can get this set on the link Doug has listed, but they are in the USA, I got this set from Ebay, and they are great for using as a base for naval figures, with just a bit of tweaking with filler and scalpel.😐
btw, No cows in this set!
Cheers, Pete

1/48 scale figures

Hi Steve,
You could start here perhaps
https://www.peoplescale.com/FIGURES-148-and-150_c307.htm
Some remodelling / repainting may be necessary, but that's pretty much inevitable for RN crew 🤔
They even have cows for a fresh milk supply on board 😁😋

1/48 scale figures

My latest build is a 1/48th scale tug, Resolve.
I am building the naval version and am looking for appropriate figures to crew the vessel.
I can't source any at the moment.
Can anyone help please?
