Fireboat pennant details on fold mast.

Gee thanks Peter for a response which I only checked today my email is: * and am looking to finally adding a "flag" all the best & thanks for a response. I am waiting patiently for the one day when I maybe able to obtain the Torpedo boat plans including traced formers of the kit ,as a scratch builder doing hull skins with paper templates is easy as years ago I obtained a sea queen keel and forepeak formers glued and all the rest bits loose (only missing the hull skins , the prior owner used the wood hull skins for an aircraft) and she was an easy build with a s/c 40 now and quiet etc and I will post pics eventually). The Aerokits certainly were for absolute ease of building to introduce sales of other kits after building one's first kit .Regards Lyle.

Crash Tender With "On Board" Cam!

That was brilliant I really enjoyed your video. For a while I thought I was down at the lake magic.

Yes, the esc does have reverse and voltage cut off, it was quite hard to find a controller to do this a few years ago but I think they are becoming much more common now.

The voltage cut off is more of a limiter, it doesn't actually cut the power, it'll limit your power so that the battery voltage doesn't drop below the limit. Very useful as you don't end up struggling to get it back when the battery is flat.

Brushless & Li-po, sounds like a park flyer !

Do you have reverse and voltage cut off on the ESC?

Crash Tender With "On Board" Cam!

HI Robert, pleased you like the video, the battery is an 11.1v 3500mAh LiPo battery, the motor is a "Mega" brushless motor which I don't think are made anymore. There is no gearbox just direct drive, the prop is 35mm two bladed "S" type.

Lots of people comment that the prop only looks small but my theory behind it is that it will generate less drag for the motor. The motor is made for speed rather than torque so the smaller the prop the less it will struggle.

Battery life with this setup ranges from about 20 to 40 minutes depending on how I use it.

Great video & nice use of different camera positions.

The boat has a very respectable turn of speed, what is the configuration - Battery, Motor, G/bx & prop?

Yes you are right, the lake is prone to getting a lot of wind at times, fortunately the fireboat is quite tolerant although the calmer the better!

The camera is an Oregon Scientific action cam, ideal as it's small, light weight and water proof. I've attached a few photos here showing all the different camera angles used for the video above.

I thought it would look good too if I put the camera on another boat and ran them both parallel to each other, it does sound easy enough but trying to keep them both parallel whilst moving along proved to be very tricky!

Ps magic spell checker I will post some more
P.s. 'Ps' is spelt wrong 😀 😀 😀

Crash Tender With "On Board" Cam!

This is a video clip of my Fireboat at Southport boating lake today.

The idea of an on board cam was thanks to another member who submitted a video last year of their Sea Queen (see video gallery), I liked the effect so thought I'd give it a go myself. it seems to have worked? 😛
