RC help

Ok, I think?, based on the banter here, is the Transmitter doesn't give a "tinkers dam" about what servos, it's tinkering with? Only that, the ESCs, servos and controller are all playing nice???

RC help

Hi Steve,
"that's a new one on me. Does this just apply in the United States?"
It doesn't apply anywhere Steve.
Ed's got his RX and ESC mixed up😉

RC help

Sorry Ed but I have to chip in here!
RR: of course you can use the receiver (RX) 👍
The RX doesn't care what model it is in or what you do with the servos you hang on it.
I have a Spektrum DX6 TX and TRx and it works just fine in my boats.

If the RX ports are labelled with AIL, ELEV and such aircraft terms just ignore it and put your boat rudder and throttle controls where you want.
I usually have both on the right stick, Channels 1 and 2, so I can navigate with one thumb.
While the other hand is maybe occupied with a Krug of Bier😋
My sailing lake is in a Biergarten here in Munich😁

What Ed is thinking of is the motor electronic speed controller, ESC.
Fixed wing aircraft don't fly backwards😮 So ESCs made for them do not have a reverse 'gear'. So get a car/boat version.
Since most RC sets are aimed at the larger RC aircraft market you will probably have to go carefully through your TX and delete the usual factory presets for aircraft / helis.
Read the manual carefully!
If you get stuck just ask👍

Sorry, EdH, that's a new one on me. Does this just apply in the United States? If so, I apologise for misleading RedRider.

RC help

To coin a phrase, "That's what they all say."
That's what confused me when I first started, but once I realised there is no difference, the only mistake I made was to underestimate the number of channels I might need.
I am currently using a Taranis x9d FrySky system which can supply up to 18ch with two receivers.
Spektrum is a respected make and $10 is a bargain, provided of course that it works.
Best of luck.

RC help

Hello Mariners
I'm at a point in my build, wherein, I decided to make my Coastguard Life boat a static or an RC model. I've been at an impasse for over a year. Recently, I stumbled upon a Spektrum DX5e Transmitter & Receiver for $10 USD. I didn't think I should pass this up!
However, all of the info says it's used for RC planes. Can it be used for boats too?
Please forgive my ignorance, as this RC stuff is all knew to me, however, am willing to learn. Please advise.
