have ordered the motor mfa 385 and a rudder waiting for them to arrive

Hi Brian, A lot depends on what performance you are looking for and what water you will be sailing on. If you are looking for a reasonable performance with a low cost try the MFA 385, a well made motor which can be fixed using the supplied mounting plate or, without the plate, fixed by the two normal mounting holes. Higher performance using a brushless motor can be achieved but what good if you are using a small pond. On a larger pond then the greater power and speed can be more easily observed and appreciated.
