    Thanks for the update.
i have to say this is a fairly recent issue and this was not problem a couple of months ago.
i agree with you, that sending positive support to members is a good thing.
    Robert.

    Hi All Members,

I partly feel responsible for all the promotion notifications that members have been receiving.

As a member of this great site, i like many others try to help.

And as part of the site team i also try to encourage all members to be more active on the site, so as soon as i notice a new promotion i respond in the hope of giving that member a little boost.

Now that β€œNew Members” and β€œRecent Promotions” automatically appear at the bottom of the Home Page and in the Site notifications, maybe i should just send my comments direct by PM (Personal Message).
Altho this relies on that member actually reading the PM as i have noticed many members especially new members do not realise they have this function available to them.

Doug (RNinMunich) has explained the way of preventing the notifications and we are already having discussions With Stephen (Fireboat) about this notification problem that keeps arising.

Hopefully we will have a notification system that will suite all members but please remember that Stephen (Fireboat) is an extremely busy guy as he has a full time job as well as working on this site.

So please be patient as there is a lot of Programming and reprogramming to be done.

    Martin555.

    Hi Hilly (πŸ˜‰)
"Can any of you know how to stop emails about members being promoted. "
Go to your Account page (NOT the profile!),
Look at the right hand column 'Specific Notifications' and scroll down to 'Topics Following'.
Scroll down (list might be long depending on how many Threads etc you have posted toπŸ€”),
Carry on scrolling πŸ™„ until you find [Forum] Recent Promotions and switch it off by clicking on the blue switch box to the right.
It will then disappear from the list, and hopefully from your Email box.
Carry on scrolling down until you find [Forum] Promotion and switch that off as well.
BE AWARE though, if you later post anything in either of those threads the topics(s) will automatically reappear in your Topics Following list: Even if you have NOT clicked the 'Follow Topic' box at the top of the thread☹️ That plagues me as well, my list is about a half mile long, and most of the threads are long since dead! I'll discuss this with Stephen (Fireboat).
While scrolling the list you may well also find topic threads that are dead or no longer of interest to you.
Just switch those OFF as well.
Hope this helps reduce the flood🀞
    Cheers, Doug 😎
PS Your topic 'Email notifications' has now appeared in my list!!πŸ€”

    Don't worry Jimish,
You obviously don't fit in here so we'll do it for you!
We all just want to swap info about the models we build and have a little fun.
There are other 'stuffy' forums I believe which might suit you better.
Sorry we weren't to your taste.πŸ€”
Can't please ALL the people ALL the time!
    Doug.

    Yes, it’s pathetic.
    Grown men playing at sailors.
I want to close my account but there’s no obvious way.
