I agree with Boatshed,
My two 'go tos' are Deluxe Materials Canopy Glue and Glue 'n Glaze.
Grip well, dry crystal clear, don't fog clear plastic and don't stink of cyanide gas 🙊😝
Canopy Glue is good for sticking to painted / varnished surfaces.
Glue N Glaze is better for sticking to metal.

Don't get too stuck up Jim 😮
Cheers, Doug 😎
Please remember that CA can be removed( CA remover/acetone) where as epoxy is relatively permanent. (It can be removed with heat, if your part survives.)

Hi Toradog, l have a tube of the flexible ca l never thought about using a two part epoxy, never considered it to be flexible enough to do this kind of stick job. well lets see what happens.
I,ll take on any suggestions, this is one dog who,s not too old to learn.
stay safe chaps.

I'll shoot one, as soon as I straighten it up a tad. My better half says I'm a slob, and I always thought that she was referring to my building habits.....
Rubber reinforced CA is probably best for joints that might be under stress, but CA as a whole has little shear strength. Also, I have found that ruffing up the surfaces to be bond especially metal surfaces, make a huge difference. Another approach is to tack pieces into place with CA and then reinforce with a very fine bead or layer of epoxy.

cheers boatshed the frame and windscreen have stuck together but im not sure for how long, the metal frame of the windscreen has not a great deal flat edge to stick to the screen.
still lets see how it goes.

I cannot remember the name of it, but Hobbies at Ravenningham in Norfolk sell specific glue for model window glazing. I have just looked it up It's called Glue & Glaze. It's made by Deluxe Materials. £7.95 a small bottle.

hi chaps re windscreen what type of glue do you use. been using canopy glue for years on my models nearly always plastic to wood or plastic to plastic and has served well but dont seem to like sticking to the metal frame of the screen. l have spent a couple more hours cleaning up and re,glueing clamping it together let us see what happens. l have some of the flexible CA glue l think that will be my next attempt.
hey toradog any chance of a video round your workshop, Dungeon ????.

Hi Jim,
Could you post some phots of the problem and then it will help us to help you.
Martin555.
If it looks right it probably is.
Hi chaps just started to try and attach the windscreen and the frame together and then onto the boat. The instructions tell you to install the frame first then the screen plastic. What a game I thought soot juggling was awkward. Tried the instructed way glue smears all over the place.
so now im going to glue the plastic to the frame then onto the boat.
Do all of us boat people have a slice of the Marquis De Sade in us.
