H.M.S SCIMITAR FTB

Thanks Doug,
Yes, loads of pictures. Have been using that site for my Dark project too.
I understand the Brave and Scimitars had very similar hulls. As both were designed and built by Vosper, that sounds probable.
The bow of the Scimitar was slightly different. The chine line is higher and the point of the stem further forward. Read somewhere it made the vessel more sea kindly.
Already have drawings of the Brave, will continue my search for the Scimitar P251.
Appreciate all the suggestions received.

Thanks Bill,
That is rather a last resort as might have to sell my first born! Their prices are very high.
Going to see what happens in the meantime, perhaps something will turn up.

Hi Bill,
Sorry for confusing you 🤔
But that's the Scimitar 1917 S Class destroyer I would be interested in.
What Rowen wants is this
https://www.google.com/search?q=scimitar-class+fast+training+boat&client=firefox-b-d&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=UPsjytnK4U1KtM%252Cgf_DtN5-Z636mM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kSQtHB-wAZmsE_eKP1BBiVE6-q6sg&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwizkMfxwsTwAhXNDOwKHcy8CYwQ9QF6BAgQEAE#imgrc=sIZy3cJc7pTvkM

Sadly no luck at RMG or other RN Museums ☹️

Hi Rowen.
You might try the Royal Museums Greenwich website.
They have thousands of plans and prints and may come up trumps.
Failing that try The-Blueprint.com site.
See attached picture of the site showing the boat you want.
Sorry for some reason I can’t attach the link to the website.
Regards Bill.

Gotcha! THAT Scimitar.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scimitar-class_fast_training_boat
100' BTP, 106' LoA.
Replacements for your Brave and Dark class boats.
Hmm! Don't seem to have helped much re plans though 🤔
Hope springs eternal 👍
My Scimitar preference would be H21 S Class destroyer though.
'More bang for the bucks!' 😁

Thanks Doug,
Am looking at the FTB, @ 100' long. There were three boats with hulls similar to the Braves.
They were unarmed and powered by 2 x Proteus GT engines. Built around the early 1970s.
Hope that makes it a little easier.

Hi Rowen,
Haven't found a plan - yet 🤔
I take it you mean the Scimitar class FPB, Fast Patrol Boat.
At 52' 6" a 1:72 model would work out at 8.75" !!
Not impossible but not easy 😉
For 17" LoA you're looking at ~ 1:37.
Soon as (if🙄) I find a plan you'll be the first to know (along with anyone else Online😁).
Maybe Halmatic can help you?
Cheers, Doug 😎

H.M.S SCIMITAR FTB

Am thinking of building an operational model of this FTB to a scale of about 1:72.
That is much smaller that my previous projects and have an O/L of about only 17". Would usually build this using a GF hull, but an concerned about weight. So am considering alternatives.
To do this will require plans though, have searched the usual sites but without success, has anybody any suggestions?
Thanks
Rowen
