They made one mistake JB - should have taken a leaf out of the French farmers book - they brought Paris to a standstill and totally surrounded the House of Parliament - stayed there until the bill they disliked was withdrawn - thousands of tractors totally blocked streets . So if the EU issues a directive and the farmers don't like it - its ignored.
Quite right in my view - some of the things that the bureaucrats in Brussels come up with are ridiculous - like destroying a lot of the old fishing boats in the UK - should have been classified as a criminal act.

Interesting day today,- (sort of nautical theme, as it was at the beach)😁 - A huge stream of utes and tractors driving past my place today,- probably about 100 vehicles. Farmers all over New Zealand were doing protest drives in their local areas, due to the Govt attacking them again, by putting an extra tax on utes. They are already getting hammered with all this green stuff about pollution which costs them a fortune to set up/maintain, along with all sorts of other new regs, and they are now fighting back.
They all collected down at the big Orewa beach reserve and got a lot of support, even though it was in the middle of a working day. Went down to get a few pics and add another bod. A few $ million worth of gear there. One local (non farmer) turned up in a Lambo (plate-'Toro'- real original😎) to show off as well, ( the V8 Land Rover sounded better,- and it was loud!) . Motorways round the country were full of utes and tractors. What's the bet the govt ignores this?
