    Hi Steve,

You can still buy a new set of plans for the Rapier.

Thats what I did when I was restoring my first Rapier - all the details are in the Mayhem restoration thread.

    Bob.

    Hello redpmg,
Can you direct me to this "Old Boats website" please ? Sounds interesting.
Is there any way of locating a plan for the Rapier ?
Is it the one here under Plans & Docs ?

Hi Eraser5661 - the bulkheads & other parts can be recreated from your plan - if you could please scan the plan at a minimum 400dpi even in A4 with reasonable overlap we can sort it, clean it and later provide the bulkhead & other parts drawings from that . It can also be made available on the Old boats website for free to all who want a copy - please contact me via PM .

No there are no details of the bulkheads.
This was the only plan in the kit which I built approximately 45 years ago!
Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

The superstructure is very simple and with a few measurements, which parts lift off for access and reference to Bob's Arrow kit it would be an easy task to produce a drawing for it.

Bob, is there a drawing with the Arrow kit? And is the Rapier built the same as the Stiletto but bigger? If so, can't the Stiletto parts be referenced to it?

    "Will I ever learn."
    Nope Nerys!
None of us will, it's a life sentence๐Ÿ˜‰
Like you I had enough restoration/refit jobs hanging around, and stash kits overflowing into the cellar and my bedroom.
So I SWORE 'NO MORE KITS'.
Ha ha! Then along comes a special introductory offer of a 1:72 kit of the WW1 U-9.
Now I'm pondering how to convert it to RC!!!!
    Ho hum๐Ÿค”
Finish the Aux Barge and LST before the new kits Nerys. (Easy to say๐Ÿค”)
Otherwise you'll end up with a clogged up workshop like I have.
'Almost' finished ships are now encroaching on the living room as well
Apart from that we're all busting to see the Aux Barge and LST afloat๐Ÿ‘

    Best wishes to you both,
    Cheers, Doug ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Not only basket cases , Colin, I've been struggling to find the energy to finish a scratchbuilt auxiliary barge for months and yet I go and buy a part finished Thames barge some months ago and more recently a kit of a Dutch barge. Will I ever learn.

Will, we are all still learning new skills by watching and commenting on each others models.
I've only been boat modelling since 1958 so still trying to learn as much as possible before I loose the use of my hands and eyes.
Trouble is that I can't stop accepting basket cases to fix.
I think my epitaph will read here is another basket case.
Many modelling years to come I hope.
    Cheers Colin.

    Thank you Colin.
I think Brilliance is a bit of an overstatement for my current model boat building skills (or lack of), I'm still very much learning and grateful for those of you on this forum who have the patience and take the time to share info and knowledge etc with the rest of us who are less experienced.

    Thank you to you all.

    That's a good idea/suggestion Bob.
Thank you also for your very generous offer of cutting parts out.
As you say, it would also mean the possibility of another Lesro boat for you, one that you haven't already got.

If anyone has an un-built (or taken apart) Stiletto and would be prepared to draw around the parts this would be the easiest way for Will to get his boat completed.
I would be more than happy to cut the parts out for Will on my bandsaw as I could duplicate everything and make a second Stiletto to join my classic power boat feet.๐Ÿคฃ
Two new build Stilettos would increase the size of the active fleet considerably.
    Bob.

I have a new un-started Arrow kit, and as far as know this model shared the same hull as the Stiletto, so I can copy all of the hull parts for Will, but I don't have any of the cabin shapes.

If anyone has a flat-pack Stiletto and would be prepared to draw around the cabin sides I could probably work everything else out.

    Yeah, just a bit.
Cabin sides are definitely Aerokits Sea Commander, but not sure about the other parts.
Fore deck is possibly Stiletto, but again, unsure for definite.

I'll keep hunting for some plans, someone must have some they'd be prepared to either let go or copy.

    Thanks for your reply Steve.
From what I can tell without plans to reference, cabin sides, all hull skins both the sides and underneath.
There are bulkheads in the box, bit I don't know if they are Stiletto ones, or for an Aerokits Sea Commander. I say Sea Commander, because the two cabin sides that were in the box are for one of those and not a Stiletto.
So thank you for the offer of info, but ideally I need a plan to reference what I have and haven't got and also to make the missing parts.
Its very frustrating that it's not what I thought I had bought and the fact that no one seems to have any plans.

    Yours looks very tidy though.
Nice to see a Lesro model as they certainly don't seem as common as some other makes, Aerokits for one.

No plans. I was given a link to a Rapier. Having no reason to think this was a different model and having only seen a Rapier up close once, didn't think to ask the seller the length. So I was puzzled when it arrived. Then twigged that it was a Stiletto that I had bought !
Would it help if I took some more photo's with a ruler alongside to give scale ? What parts are missing ?

    Very nice Stiletto.
Don't suppose you have the plans that came with the kit do you?
I bought an old Stiletto kit, but half of it is missing, or broken and there's no plan with it either, so I have nothing to reference to make the missing parts.
