About this boat

This boat is an unknown all-wood scratch built of an unusual prototype The Mocca class built by Thorneycraft at Chiswick they were the prototype of torpedo boats with a single locomotive boiler two torpedos in the tubes and two spares on the deck to the rear of the tubes
The motor fitted does not work so I have replaced this and the speed controller and radio the weakness of this model is that I have made a rudder as plan its a bit big to get caught up in pond weed😠

    Belive that to be a ww1 steam turbine torpedo boat. Could be wrong but I'm sure I've seen pics online

    well the bullet was a bit much over weighted it to get trim right and did a Titanic sinking luckly apart from a wrecked motor and speed controller this time now replaced and after good trim tests will test on next occasion

    Following its rebuilding after its Titanic type Today at the pond we flew across the pond not sure what the birds on the lake thought of this grey dart coming at them but most pleased with its running nice to have something different

    The whole of the rudder linkage had to replace and replaced the motor to brushless now she cuts through the water

    well today at the lake the boat ran well ran well, improved the linkage to the rudder this version of a mocca class Thornycroft boat is similar to the one featured in the model boats magazine for December 2025

    That is a very sleek hull. How does she perform in a slop, ie, does she tend to roll?

    in a slop she rolls like a bucket in the forward cuts quite a dash wide tuning circle is ok don't get any water in
