About this boat

Started this kit months ago. Went out to visit son in LA for a month. On return got going again on it. Did hull joining and cut out other parts. Drilled holes in hull. Months went by and built WTC and ballast tank. Found on line a builder who used 3D parts to replace poorly designed Krick dive planes n rear end drive parts. So now I’m up to fitting motors in place and control rods into WTC. I found my idea to turn water pump on and reverse won’t work. I purchased on line a gizmo made got it. Also my dive plane servo was bad so waiting on replacement. It wasn’t an easy build. I did several Dumas subs and the big Revel sub. All easier to do. Krick sub has you unscrewing a lot of nuts to get to battery. I am adding what Dumas did a soda bottle screw cap section so I can recharge and Dubro push pull switch. The center section tank bulge can hide them. Pic is the WTC not installed in hull and top center section. So far. Been working while watching tv. I hope to finish this month? Still need painting finished. I also need to fabricate two life jackets for conning tower. Anyone else build this sub? Nice details but a lot of work.

I will do what I can, it's just that it is in the loft, so it may be some time before I can get up there to find her.

I had one of the older Krick subs, bought it part built. Someone made me a stupid offer for it so I sold it as I have two type VII Uboats, a Revell kit and a fibreglass hull. I have built the WTC so far.

@Fred got any pics of the WTC? It’s a crazy squeeze getting the WTC into place plus the control cables. I added a dubro switch on side under the removable top side tanks. Also used said or water bottomless top. I cut it out and have it as access to recharge connector. Again it’s inside the side tank bump out. My Dumas Aluka had this trick for access. Awaiting the switch for turning the pump on off. I had another idea but it didn’t work. So I’m on hold until I get that part then I’ll try getting motors installed. I’ll test the WTC before that too for leaks.

    Hi Hhager2
I have built this sub but under the HFM banner, in fact it is still in my loft, one thing I did was to fit a vent pipe from the rear of the blast tank that fits under the deck, this way you get all the air out, for the pump I think I used a fuel pump from MFA, and a on-off-on togel switch this way you can pump in or out, this was controlled by a servo to switch the pump on- off-on, in the end I got rid of the tank and the wtc box's and fitted a home made wtc from a 4inch down pipe.
