This is from an early Sterling EMMA C. BERRY 2 masted schooner kit. Scale: 3/4" (1/16). 49.5" length, 10.75" beam, 40" height. The original boat was built in 1866 as a gaff sloop in Noank CT., and converted to a two-masted schooner in 1889. All-wood hull, masts, spars, and superstructure. I added a sail winch and extended keel to make her more responsive, especially upwind.
How much is the keel extended and what shape is it? Seeing your video it must be significant. Any photos of the keel? As for the real Berry, it has been restored several times and is back to the original build. (I saw the Berry when I was about 10 years old (now 82). My Sterling model still sits on a shelf and I see it every day. I fiber glassed the hull back in the 1970's but never sailed it.
@ColRay This was a Sterling Models kit, built around 50 years ago by a friend who passed away a few years ago. I restored it, added an extended keel and sail winch.

Hi Lindeman06,
What a beautiful build! The Emma C. Berry has always been one of my favorite classic American schooners, and you've done a wonderful job capturing her graceful lines.
I especially admire that you converted her for R/C sailing by adding a sail winch and extending the keel.
It's always interesting to see a builder improve a classic kit while still respecting the character of the original vessel.
At nearly 50 inches long, she must be an impressive sight under sail.
I hope you have many enjoyable hours on the water with her.
Thank you for sharing such a fine model with the rest of us. She's a beauty!

Outstanding sailing Lindemann and great vid. The classic Sterling kit that's highly prized today. And it's still with us at the Mystic Seaport in Connecticut!
