That all sounds very promising Gav, I'll keep all this information in mind when I start putting it all together, cheers.

I've ordered a pump and scrounged up a bit of copper pipe to start experimenting with, I never considered the possibility of the motor over heating itself but as I said in an earlier post, hopefully I'll only need it to work for a short burst ๐ค. I like the look of your conversion , a nice job, I'll keep it in mind for if the worst happens. Cheesey.

Many thanks GavJ, I'll order one of those pumps and play about testing it. Sorry if I was a little slow replying, I've just had a few days away sailing with my son. I'll let you know what happens next. Cheers.

Hello GavJ,
Thank you for the prompt response. The idea of a screen wash pump sounds quite attractive, my wife's Fiat 500 has quite powerful windscreen jets so that would be a good starting point, wonder if she'll notice๐. I'm a good way off from needing such things yet but I'm trying to think ahead for the layout in the hold before I fit the decks and make it awkward to work in the enclosed space. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Can any of you fine chaps help me please ? I've started building a 1:24 model of a Thames sailing barge, not got very far yet but I am wondering if it's possible to build in a couple of small, discreet water jets, one either side of the rudder. I'm not looking for speed, just something to give it a little shove if I get into trouble on the lake. Any useful suggestions or ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bill.

When I open a new bottle of super glue, I always put a smear of vaseline on the threads for the bottle top and the nozzle. This was on advice given to me by the chap I buy it from and I've never had a problem getting the bottle open. Hope that helps someone.
