Thanks Dave and tiggy.
I have spent this last month reading about the marblehead class rules, sail design, how sails work, laminer air flow over sails, luff folds etc.
Didn't understand a word of it.
I will finish the Genie as a radio controlled pond yacht for me and my grandsons to have some fun with and build it to the specifications of
IF IT LOOKS RIGHT IT WILL PROBABLY WORK OK.
Thanks Grandad

Hi.
I have aquired a part built Marblehead, It Is a Vic Smeed Genie and I would like some advice please. Should I keep It true to the plans or change the build for a more modern sail set up etc. I am new to boat building but am an experianced aromodeler, If It was a plane I would keep It original to compete In vintage events and It Is my experiance that the vintage models can fly just as well as the modern ones with the correct handling. With sailboats I have no Idea, are there vintage events?? How would this boat In original spec compete against more modern design?? Would she be easier for a novice to handle In original spec?? lastly has anyone owned a genie ??
Thanks Grandad
