If anyone is wanting anymore info please post it here and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I have also attached another photo showing the boat hull that is featuring in my most recent build. Fr those who want I believe I still have a video from an early model if you want me to put it up here.

Wow very nice! For those who are wondering how to get boats under a 6 inch size, try the Spektrum AR 6400 modules. These are full proportional Spektrum radio receivers on the 2.4 ghz band. They have 2 linear serves mounted already (but are not hard to remove if trying to save weight). They also have a brushed speed controller capable of 2 amps. They will run of single cell lipos, Ie from old rc helicopters work well. The small pager motors from things like mobile phones work great to power small boats. Also from rc helicopters, the tail rotor blades from a micro helI can be cut down into a not perfect but workable propeller. You just have to run the motor shaft through something like a grease trap, these little motors rust fast. For the hulls something from your local toy shop is an easy way to get a pre-made plastic hull that is easy to modify, perhaps from a set that comes with other scale looking but small things. Attached is an Image from my most recent micro build, unfortunately I have not yet gone past this stage due to time constraints but you can see the tiny receiver, serves and battery.

Thanks Gregg, yes I have found that these small boats are very sensitive to any sort of wave, and have quickly learnt to get the boat out of the water as soon as any wakes appear. No damage though ๐

HI I am a 15 year old teenager so my first boat is my current one! it is a homemade one designed out of my head with a plastic hull (the white thing in the picture) and uses a Spektrum AR-6400 module with a 1 cell lipo 160 mah battery, running on one of those tiny motors from a rc helicopter, driving a custom 3 bladed propeller. is quite fast for its size, faster than walking pace. it is about 3.9 inches long and weights 30 grams.

Hey everyone I am new to this site. I have been building a micro scale rc boat based on a speed boat my friend owns. I am Interested If anyone else out there Is playing around In the micro segment of this fantastic hobby. When I say micro I am taking about boats that are less than say 15 Inches long.

It is actually 10 cm (3.9 inches) long and has a maximum power draw of 1 amp. The battery is a 1 cell lipo 160 mah. (Motor: Digitech (those small rc helicopter main motors)) (ESC: Sektrum) (6/10)
