(Yacht) DMI 'Pirat"
Classic modell, in the 70's sold under the name DMI pirat. a full wooden sailboat without RC controls.
the keel was extended to improve stability.
In the 90's the wooden strips from the hull were so dried out, that I had to fill it complete with epoxy and sprayed the uniform 'baby blue'color.
After a long period in the attic , it saw daylight again and the sails needed to be replaced.
Now it is a static model with sailing capacities. (7/10)

thanks, I have been updating my Smaragd for the last years to make her as I would like. Almost running out of ideas apart from making new main sail and jib.
Apart from that hoping for some nice sailing moments,, for now I think its too coldπ€

good morning, as in the picture a pretty simple setup for a Genoa control.
the green line is the loop, it rolls on and off at the same time moving the line towards one side and the other.
the red line is the control to extend the sheet from the sail. in order to sail tight to the wind or for the wind.
on the green sheet there is a ring fixed. all the way extended to one side it is on the end point. When the green line moved to the other side it is on the end point on the other side.
through the ring the red line can move tight or wide.
for the dragon as this is a smaller boat, check out YouTube Genoa on Micro Magic. You will see easy options also !

Hi there. It started as wooden strips on wooden frame but decided to wrap it with epoxy. I took out the wooden parts and put in a few foam frames for stiffness.
Balsa wood and foam for the deck and epoxy finish.
After this small fairing and spray in a nice metallic topcoat.
The rig is made by a company in Germany specific for this modell.

inside view of servo controls for genua or blister.
the white frame in which the servos are mounted is the new version of the old situation where every servo had his own foundation.
now I can remove the complete set in one time for maintenance if necessary.

just a video which shows the movement from the genua or blister from p-side to sb-side
controlled by one servo, in my case a Hitec with a big winch wheel.

hi agent,
the cracks look like through the paint system on top of the ABS. (plastic hull) see if you can determine if the paint around a crack is loose from the plastic. (with knife you can cut carefully) if the paint is loose, you will have to remove everything. (best basis to start from)
after that, good degreasing and a suitable spray primer (motip or so) and colour it with laquer to your desire.
about the transmitter, or fix up the old one or buy a new set with enough channels ( I have six with Graupner MZ 10C) but more brands are available.

hey,
I use a 9,6 v ni-mh battery pack and a speed controller to reduce the power to 6v.
( i have no motor and propellor by the way, the ESC is only to reduce the power )
if you only use main sail and jib and rudder, a 4x 1,5V battery pack with normal batteries are sufficient for a complete afternoon sailing. ( I did this before I started with the genua and blister ) with ordinary batteries it works fine ( and cheap..... I am dutch ).
for the genua and blister I needed more power and I decided to change to battery pack rechargeable.

hey Jim, as far as my knowledge goes for the rigs, a genua is a 'straight sail which pull a little further backwards than the mast.
a jib stays in front of the mast when moving from ps to sb-side.
A blister is like a genua, but is curves upwards also , so it looks like a spinnaker.
( it also has to do with the m2 of the sails itself by the way)
so to control the blister you need
a servo to move from sb- side
a servo to extent or pull the sheet itself
a servo to extent or pull the fwd part of the sail to make it more round.
( for the genua you only need the first two servos)
I hope there are sailers who can give the correct names for the items that I described but I did my best π)

haha, came out of hibernation. contact me if you need more info . Good luck with the rebuilt !
I see you have the same blister in your package. The controls of it are old days insights so this can really be improved.
i have all the drawings, if you need any.

hello, I came across the same situation and decided to cut off the top (thicker part) of the railing stanchions, remove the wires and put on a wooden cap rails (round 6mm).
Now the sheets from the genua and the blister slide over the cap rails.
