Sea Queen by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 2 years ago
This is Maxine, a 1960' aerokit Sea Queen 😊 She has been stripped down, hull repaired along with top sides. New brushless motor/lipos etc. Goes quite well and pretty stable as you can see.She is sailed on Wibsey Park lake in Sunny Bradford.

Bought as a wreck off ebay . stripped down, repaired hull and top sides. re positioned the propshaft. Re painted. New Brushless motor/ Lipos etc. Goes quite well for an old girl, Believed originally built in the 60's. Ill try to upload a video of her strutting her stuff on Wibsey Park lake in Bradford. Edit: I've managed to upload a video of her in action on u tube ,see link below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn7LxmND-8g

HI , sorry for the late reply , life keeps getting In the way ...lol. She has 12v system Installed (she needs a lot of ballast so a 12v battery helps). she Is running on 2x MFA motors at 6:1 ratio and 2 x viper marine 20's each running separately.I haven't got round to fitting a bow thruster, A nice boat to build and you can do a little or alot to her , I have seen some with operating cargo doors and cranes,(a bit to Involved for me ) She does weigh alot when finished, I purchased a sack cart and manufactured a cradle to transport her. It would be nice If you open a blog so we can see the build ........Take care..............................................Les

Bought of ebay part built .re worked all the stern and smoke stack areas. rc to go In soon ..moving turrets working lights etc.. If I was to do the model again I think I would plank the deck as Im not happy with the finish I have .....who knows If I get fedup I may have a go at re doing It later this yr

USS Shipley Bay by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Scratch built from plans .model Aircraft from Japan . Smokes from the 4 exhaust ports. at the moment she sits too low In the water ( rather top heavy ). will need a bit more thinking about

Huntsman by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
renovated from ebay . fair turn of power from a 12v wiper motor. easily up on the plane . just needs the seats sorting out

Sir Key by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Just finished this over Christmas. All lights work ,the deck Is done with timber strips. just to rig up rc. All the rigging detaches from the masts so I can gain access to the battery n the running gear. Lashings of Lead used as ballast. Talk about top heavy....... Think I will weather her and get her smoking .....later

First attempt at weathering, Kind of ok but ?????

PT320 by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
first model boat (apart from airfix) Built early 70's. I think I need to tart her up a bit as been neglected .

Mantua mississippI steam boat by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Bought this part built with prop propulsion . but Im converting It to paddle power. im using a 600 motor with a 50/1 gearbox to power It , but I think I will have to change the setup as the noise Is too loud ,even though It will Eventually It will have a 'Dixi' sound system Installed .

Le Hussard by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Built as a display model . I started this mid 70's then kind of carried on late 80.s when I broke my ankle . the first plank on frame Id ever encounted. ......Wow what a learning curve ......not perfect by any means but ....its ok

Ben 10 by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Built from kit . It has full lighting and smoke from the shrimp boiler (the lid Is off my wife's coat )and working trawler nets ,( causes a right drag when deployed)

HMS Snowberry by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Only had her for a few yrs , I will In time have to put a smoke system In her .

Gry Maritha by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
This boat looks the biz when Its going full tilt , The bow wave looks awesome !!! Twin motors Independently controlled ,turning circles pretty good for her size . Saying that , I do need to transport her by a sack cart ....lol

Another crash tender by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Built this In early 70's . I couldn't at that time afford rc or an engine so It was a display model until around 2000. Now, one of 18...............I'm going to have to stop , or get a bigger house ......

sylvia ann by topperles Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Scratch built, old as the hills . this bloke was throwing It out so I claimed It. Motor still works . just wants an overall to make her ship shape again .

This Is the first post Iv put on any site so ......here goes. I have 18 boats ..................Yes 18 , and Im still married lol ! Love this boat , just going through a re fit , power wise etc, just was not powerful enough. and too clean . so decided to try my hand at weathering . a bit daunting building something "pristine '' Ish then trying to make It better by roughing It up .
