HI there, I'm studying the plans for a sea queen build, it's a 46 inch long cabin cruiser and uses a 75mm/3" prop. The original used a 3.5cc diesel engine so can't really comment on electric motor choice, but I will probably start with a speed 600.

HI All, Well I'm new to Model Boating In the sense that I've never built one from scatch and a set of plans, although I've had a couple of Ready to run's. So I've started this post In the hope that It will help others like me who want to build and run their own models.
So what are the basics ;
Drive shafts & Tubes ,lengths LH,RH ? FlexI ? Couplings ?
Propellers LH & RH does It matter? What about size?
Rudders how do you assemble one on a boat? Size ?
Single drive or Twin ?
And anything any one else can question.....

HI all, I've got a few brushed motors that are rated at 24 volts, and no other Information. Running them at 24V with no load they pull 0.9Amps, at 12v 0.78Amps. They are 60mm In diameter, body length 115 mm shaft 40 mm shaft dia 6mm. Rpm Is estimated at 8000 rpm at present as the measuring device seems broken, will be re-measured when the replacment arrives.
Update the motors are from patient electric hoist's that could lift up to 300Kg's
Is this motor any good for a boat? I was thinking of using It In a Sea Queen.
Any way as I have more than I can use, Is there anybody who might find use for the others? free to a good home, first come first served for the cost of postage.
Update the motors are made In Italy,
All motors have now found new homes.

Hi, First boat build from scratch, using plans from a keil kraft Mermaid kit and scaling up X2 to 28 Inch's. Once complete the boat will be passed on to a nephew to make room for another one.
Questions, what electric motor will I need? looking through the power setups section a brushed 600 motor and 30mm 3 blade prop seem a popular choice. What Is the Brushless equivalent to a Graupner 600?
