It's models like that, that strengthen the argument for 3D printing as a method for building models. I'm not a great fan of 3D printed models that could be easily built in timber but for complicated and modern builds like that which would be difficult any other way then I'm all for it. A wonderful model.

Alessandro - that hull design seems to be becoming more common now in pleasure boats but I do wonder if it is more about fashion rather than any real seakeeping benefits?

The model's bow is very interesting; its design (reverse spur like that of ancient Roman and Greek triremes) is highly unusual in the naval field. It was used on battleships during the First World War and immediately before. It has currently been used on French FDI frigates and American Zumwalt-class destroyers, but it is even more unusual for fast motorboats.

PS The article mentions stability issues. Ryan has remedied this by incorporating pontoons under the two rear "wing" type appendages. The pontoons are not visible when on th ewater, and help stability a LOT.

Hi Dave, it's a very aggressive model. Kudos to whoever created it using a 3D printer. I mean, whoever designed the project in 3D and then printed the scale model. Really clever.
As for buying the original, I'm thinking about it. Initially, I thought I could get by with twenty euros, but then I noticed that for us, the period is the opposite of the decimal point, and the price is much higher. I can't even get there, hahahahahaha.
