Making Miss Jenna wheelhouse

After seeing the tugboat last month and taking a bunch of photos, I am now making a wheelhouse of Miss Jenna that will fit the Ville Class tugboat hull I use for the two other villes. By using one hull I can interchange the wheelhouse to represent a different tugboat.

Miss Jenna has some features that the others do not such as the stanchions and cable secured to the bulwarks. Those could be added to the existing model too.

Her mast has many work lights, more than just lights for navigation and towing.

Yellow vessel is Loganville and red n white is the Beamsville.

Wheelhouse progress

I found a stain to match the original seen on the full-size Miss Jenna

Here’s a Ville class I did. Nowhere near as detailed as yours. Have you ever seen the real tug,Beaupre that was QUICKWATER’s inspiration?

Beaupre

Sorry to disappoint you but she is not a Ville Class from WWII era.

Yes she was built in Owen Sound Ontario at the RusselBrothers shipyard. Built in 1952 after WWII, and is different from the WWII style Ville Class tugboat built for service during the war.

Miss Jenna has a wheelhouse

Moving right along

I tried the method of soaking my thin plywood in Windex before bending it to form the smokestack of the tugboat. Came out great with no splits.
