Chris-Craft Style

I think I mentioned this model on another blog. And now it's become a Build Blog. So here we go. This model required a battery box, so I had to make some modifications. So a few cuts were required to find a spot for a 7.2-volt NMH battery so see some photos.

When you run this boat, how long do you keep it traveling around the pond? 1/2hour at a time at a cruising speed or full-out?

The reason I ask, is that I am now using this shorter 1200MAH NiMH 7.2volt battery for two of my models. Requires less space than the 2400 or 3500 batteries. Also less weight.

Put a new floor in & glued seats to it, and the battery is now hidden. Installed a speed control switch, mounted the speed controller with some of that amazing velcro, changed the transmitter & receiver to a Turnigy 2.4Ghz style, adjusted the rudder servo to give the rudder more movement. Bath tud test and O/K for the summer run.I had a 2.4 GHz transmitter that had a broken antenna, so I found an old 78 transmitter, took out its antenna out and soldered it to the broken antenna. Seems to work O/K hid the soldered antenna inside the case

While I was doing the modification, I broke the windshield plastic windows and I can tell everyone that it was a real pain to replace them, as several attempts were made to glue new plastic and I kept getting glue fingerprints on the replacement windows. Finally, use a tiny dab of clear silicone to hold the windows in place. Build blog now finished.Need to get back to the Deep-Sea Trawler build blog.

Well I was wrong,. First off windows never set up with the silicon glue so I'm not endorsing this glue I used but it worked. It's a very thin glue but it cleans up & doesn't smudge the clear plastic windows I also forgot the model came with a steering wheel Name plate and a mirror plus a few miscellany parts so I'll be busy for another few days's

Boat Driver needed for Chris Craft style.

I just have a thing about not having a driver running my Chris Craft so my wife & I are in Walmart . So she can't find me, so she knows I might be in the Toy Section looking for a toy man.I'm not sure who he is but he was the only wrestler with cloths on.

@GARTH I too like to see a driver at the very least in these models. I am currently looking out for 16th scale figures for my current build. A Windermere paddle steamer.
