'Bluebird' 3D printed
I will be making this model from plans/digital files for 3D printing.
As much as possible it will be 3D printed using PLA filament.
The printer I will be using is a basic level Ender 3
Some info of the Bluebird
The Bluebird of Chelsea is a historic motor yacht built for land and water speed record holder Sir Malcolm Campbell. Originally named simply Bluebird, she is famous for participating in the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation.
now could it be six degrees of separation
My early years I was spent was in a very small Hertfordshire village of Well End so small just four streets and about 50 inhabitants, one of the villages famous sons was Eric Garside a weekend sailor who answered the Admiralty's for Dunkirk Little Ships. For a short time in the years after the war My mother worked on the Garside estate.
Enjoy the photographic record as the Bluebird takes shape Col.
- DuncanP🇬🇧BronzeCommander·Looking forward to seeing your build as I planned to build the Chinese wooden kit of this beautiful boat. Unfortunately I got a refund as the small kit was out of stock and production. They tried to get me to instead upgrade to the larger kit but I simply hadn't got room to build the one around 48" long! Good luck.Liked by hermank and ColRay
- ColRay🇦🇺Master Seaman·Duncan The quality of the 3D printing isn't the best, reducing the size by 25% isn't a help Col.
