Rudder control

Hello TG!
Find the idea with the sail servo-like use a good idea.
If I had to do something like that, I would resort to bendable glider guides or angle joints. Drawings will follow.
my motto: don't rush me! 😊😊

Rudder control

Oh, oh. I do love the white stuff. Ours washed away with the rain today.
The only issue I have with gears for rudders is being able to service them when they need fixin'.
Your tiller is at quite an angle( the Friendship sloop angle) which does make for a challenge.
I don't have a drawing, but I'll try to expalin my idea. if you were to mount a pulley heand to the tiller shaft and wrap a line around it, similar to a sail drum servo arrangement and then run the line back to your servo. that is my thought anyhow. The other thing thaat comes to mind is to use a ball link connection on a tiller arm rather than a typica quick link or Z bend.
I hope this helps.

I figured by putting in another gear, now it will turn the rudder the same direction as the tiller arm. Next, will see if all of this will fit inside the hull? Stay tuned.

Yes that is me digging and using the snowblower to clear our driveway after today’s snow fall.

Hallo Ron!
Cool how you can imagine that with Lego. . I have to ask my grandson about the next problem. . . .

Hi, you have lost the 'natural' pushing the rudder tiller away to the right to turn left which is normal. The gearing has reversed it.

If you have space for a gear wheel then I would try a Meccano universal joint also more substantial. They use 4mm shafting.

Looking at Lego to assist with designing a rudder linkage to the Tiller arm.
