Thank you all for all the nice comments about 'Yantlet'. Unfortunately, it was far too windy to try sailing her. As you can see, all the sails were furled. They can all be unfurled and set for whatever mode I wish. For instance she could be motoring with just the topsail set, which was often done in the real barges, motored with topsail and mainsail, similar with foresail, or she can be sailed without power. The topmast can be sent down, and all the sailing gear can be lowered down, for going ' above bridges'. In reality, making car transport easier. I'm waiting for a nice day to be able to get photos of her under sail. It won't be today, it's real Welsh wet.
Cheers, Nerys

When the winds before the rain, soon you may make sail again, but when the rain's before the wind, tops'l sheets and halyards mind
At long last, my auxiliary barge 'Yantlet' is finished and even had her maiden sail.
We arrived at the lake to see three cars coming away. That should have told us. It was blowing a right hooly. Squall following squall up the lake. No sailing today, but we tried her out under power and everything seemed to work as expected. We didn't spend long there, but at least the long build is justified. She floats and we will enjoy trying her out under sail some fine day not too far away, we hope!.
