    Yes,
My Typhoon is double planked with the final planking being 1/4 and 1/8th inch wide Mahogany strips. The hull is like glass.
The 1/8th is for the areas that have more of a curve.
It is time consuming. For best results each planks edge should be slightly beveled to insure a tight fit. On full sized boats this was called spiling the planks.
After sanding to achieve a fair hull, it should be coated with a sealer, thin epoxy is my choice. Then coated with a heavier coats after sanding between each to achieve a smooth finish
    Good Luck,
    Trev

I’m after a smooth finish, like a ro ro passenger ferry.
Is ply wood bendable to create the contours?

You don't say if its a planked hull or deck the later being easy just use one sheet of ply, however the hull can also be covered in ply sheet however more care with any joins must be taken.
You don't say why you want (No lines) real ships have linesπŸ€”

Not sure why you plank it to look solid but yes it would be possible of your planking is thick enough. But you will have to use the clinker method of planking and sand it down. Depending on your hull shape using wider planks will help.

Hi guys, sorry if this a stupid question (I’m a complete novice in modelling) is it possible to hide lines in plank strips so it looks like one solid piece?
