The led strips are available at maplins and sold by length off the roll.

Ah, the wiring bits, they are lighting for the wheelhouse, in the pic you can see three very small squares, these are very bright LEDs, they work on 12v and also on a small 11.1 lipo, three are fitted on each side of the two roof supports giving 12 in all. they are self adhesive and can be cut into three's (they come on a long strip)

According to my kit plans the two panels sit flush with the edge of the aft roof, haven't got as far as the wheelhouse roof yet although looking at the plan I think there is a very small overlap (about 1/16 inch). Give up - what's the wiring bits for in the roof support?

Went to the international Model Boat show today saw a whole host of very nice models particularly lifeboats. The bearded one in the red suit has agreed my request so I'll post a blog when I start it.
