So today I decided to open my 16th birthday pressie which is a Ripmax Interceptor 650. I'm now 35 so I think I've been patient enough ๐. On opening the box I was greeted by a good looking model and just as I remembered it when I circled the adverted in the "Ripmax Modellers Handbook". That sharp looking bow and the big sort of spoiler where the main attractions at the time. It came with a Futaba Attack 2 channel radio (with crystals) and a 7.2v NICD battery.
So I have given it a mild update ditching the 27mhz and fitted 2.4ghz. 30amp esc over the standard 15amp. Have changed the rudder for something completely different and added a new prop. Have had to remove a few stickers as they where lifting and become brittle. The included Futaba S3003 servo doesn't show signs of life at all which is odd as they are bulletproof though I popped in another standard Servo.
Bath test completed and time for a maiden tomorrow! Will post a wee video from the moment it's placed in the water. Hopefully a nice little cruiser. Will be changing the colour after the maiden along with the motor and a surface piercing prop though remaining brushed
Wish I had opened her up years ago though life changed a lot when I turned 16 and I had placed this in my parents cellar and forgotten about it along with several other boats and aircraft. Still she's out now and ready to finally touch water
