Hello Roy, Thank you for the information on the Wild Duck. It looks a nice boat to build. Unfortunately my soldering skills are non-existent. I have tried over the years but have never really got the hang of it. Having said that, I would be interested to know if you or anyone else knows of a good retailer who sells the additional items I am going to need for the likes of the Wee Nip and others that I plan to build. I would be looking for things like masts, sails and line etc.

Hi when you have built and sailed a couple of yachts, try looking at Sarik plans with laser cut wood part kits.
I have the Wild Duck laser cut wood and I found it nicely done and good quality wood and good value. I have yet to start my one but will report back when I do.

Fittings are available in general although I make nearly all mine. If you are OK with a soldering iron, bits of brass tube and hard brass wire then the yacht world is your oyster so to speak.

By the way a soft soldered joint is over 10 times stronger than an epoxy joint.

I use various diameters of brass tube for mast fittings and the old fashioned 'I' beam section brass curtain rail cut down for deck strong points.
I could go on if anyone is interested.
    Regards
    Roy

I have both the Footy Bob-A-About and the Wee Nip boats to build but I would be interested to know if there are other kits on the market that are similar in design and functionality to the two mentioned above? I have to say that I have not come across any other similar kits when searching the internet but that may be due to my poor use of appropriate search words. If anyone has any links to similar sailboats I would interested to see them.

In addition to the two above I also have Aeronaut's Bella to build at some time. So I have plenty to do until the warmer weather arrives. 😁
