Where is that mallard duck emoji when I need it ?? (Quack, quack, quack, quack)
I've just been goose'd by a hearing-aid salesman. (Honk,honk)

I am lucky that as yet I don’t need hearing aids.
This afternoon however I saw my neighbour who does wear them above both ears and tried out one of my RC TX’s in close proximity to him.
I was amazed to see that as I moved the rudder stick to the left his left ear moved to the left and as I moved the stick to the right his right ear moved right.
I dare not try the throttle stick for fear of the consequences.🙄😜
Have a good day chaps.
Regards Bill

Seems these gadgets are Bluetooth devices.
So use a totally different modulation type from our RC sets; multiplexed serial data instead of Pulse Code Modulation PCM/PWM. As standard for Bluetooth devices the also check for a clear frequency before Pairing (Binding as we know it for RC).
Both types use adaptive frequency selection so there should be no chance of interference or cross modulation.😊
There are two kinds of mic/transmitters used; a Neckloop (i.e. body worn) RF output power 2mW (Class 2) and a remote version (Roger Select) with 100mW (Class 1). Used to connect to a TV or hiFi.
More later, gotta go now to meet SWMBO😉
Cheers, Doug 😎

I'm not at all surprised Dave,
That's exactly what I expected, as I indicated below.
EMI & RFI field strength was an important part of my work on communication systems, especially in confined areas; i.e. on board ships.🚤🚤
I'd be most interested to read the manual of these Phonak gizmos, if anyone would care to scan it?
Cheers, Doug😎

The hearing aid can't interfere with your models.
It doesn't have nearly enough 'grunt' in it's TX.
If anything your RC TX could cause noise in your earpiece.
But I very much doubt it👍

Two dot 4 GHz is in an ISM BAND...industrial, scientific, & medical. Its a much-shared frequency band. Basically it will say that you cannot cause interference nor can you claim protection from interference.
In theory your RC stuff frequency-hops when you initialize it & during the binding process your TX & RX bind, or lock onto, each other. Your hearing aids will be close by & i wud guess that the systems will end up on different channels.

They only transmit a few mW, no more is needed for such a short range, or possible for the tiny button cell batteries. Your RC receivers will never notice it.
Where do you carry/wear the mic/transmitter section?
I thought all (best) hearing aids were a one piece job these days.
Your RC set transmits 100mW. If it makes your ears click, buzz or ring change the way you hold the TX or the angle of the antenna until it stops. Thanks to the frequency hopping used it shouldn't happen anyway😉
Let us know what happens.
Cheers, Doug
If your ears buzz when you go near your microwave oven when it's working get it checked for RF leaks!!🙉 They also operate in the 2.4Gig band. A General Usage band for all sorts of gizmos, including medical equipment!
