Hello Dave,
Thank you for the information. Okay I now see what the addition lead is for. The battery holder takes AA batteries of which I was going to use just disposables but I might now purchase some rechargeable batteries as well.

Greg That charging lead is really helpful. When the switch is in the off position you can connect this to a battery charger and charge the battery up without having to remove it from the boat. ๐

Hi Greg The switch unit is designed to allow you to switch the power from the battery on or off. The two connectors together are a female to connect the battery and a male to connect a charger. They are connected together when the switch is off. The single male connector goes to the rx and is connected to the female battery connector when the switch is on. A fuse is always a useful protection feature but personally most of my models use one battery which I unplug and remove from the model when not in use so have no need for a switch. My experience is that switches can and do fail and create another possible fault point. dave976

A picture of your battery box connection would help immensely, to help you select the correct plug or socket to connect your switch to, and which is to the rx battery input. I'm surprised that it didn't have an instruction leaflet. Cheers Colin.

I have just fitted the battery box and receiver on my Bob-About sailboat and I'm just about to fit the switch for the battery box but once again as a person with a limited brain to understand what I have here in front of me I'm now confused again.
The switch unit has two wires on one side. One wire terminated in a socket and one terminated in a plug. the other side of the switch has one wire only which is terminated in a plug. Obviously the plug on the wire from the battery holder goes into the socket on one side of the switch and the switch is then connected to the receiver by a wire with a plug but what is the other wire with the plug for?
I have added a photograph for reference.
If anyone can help I would be grateful.

Sorry for the delayed reply. For some reason I have stopped receiving response notification emails to my posts.
Hello Colin,
Thank you. I understand what you have said but I was a bit confused (doesn't take much these days) when I saw that I could get one with or without a switch.
