This Countess of Bredalbane 1936 was built to replace a smaller vessel of the same name .
This Countess was built for the Caledonian steam packet Co by William Denny shipbuilders Dumbarton for service on Loch Awe in Argyll.
She was built at Denny's yard and then broken down into sections and freighted by rail to Loch Awe and reassembled and launched on 7th May 1936 the men who constructed her were billeted in the original Countess which was broken up later that year .

Hi mc,
Attached are a few colour and conversion charts for the popular paints.
PLUS a WARNING, that what you see on your display may not be quite what you get!!
As Dave says; take a gander and choose what you think is suitable, i.e. takes your fancy😉
Dave may have mistyped re 'static' model. I understand from your post that she shall be RC functional.
So if the hull is wooden I would suggest sealing it inside and out with Deluxe Materials 'EzeKote', a water based fast drying resin; no pong (so can be used indoors without incurring the wrath of SWMBO😉, clean your brushes in warm water instead of chucking them away😊
I recommend diluting the first coat with ca 20% water to enable it to penetrate the wood to seal and strengthen it. Then two coats undiluted to provide a good hard base for the primer and top coat paints.
Good luck, do let us know how you get on👍
Cheers, Doug😎

Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug
You can search on line for Revell, Humbrol, Tamiya paints etc and they all offer colour charts of all their paints. When you decide what vessel you intend to replicate you can select the nearest colour to suit. As this is a static model you really need to asses if it is waterproof and this may need some initial work involving sealing the hull. Hopefully when the model arrives on Monday you can post more pics of both inside and out so we can advise you further. It would also help to know about your previous modelling skills so we don't teach you to suck eggs.

Hi, thank you for your likes and comments. First of all I spelled her name wrong it's Countess of Breadalbane, no excuse because my late father worked on her on the Clyde for a while. Don't know if she's a kit model or scratch built, I know you can buy a plan to build her. She's not RC yet but she will be. Colour wise, I'm still not sure, I do like the Green/blue colours of Cal Mac but I also like what we called the Ritchie ferrys darker blue when she was renamed the Countess of Kempock. So basically I need to know what paint will be the closest colours to buy.

Hi mcewen27
Nice looking model. There are pics of the real boat on line This historic vessel has had many owners and some pics show a light blue hull so I expect you are aware of the colour scheme for your chosen era. Please will you describe the colours you wish to use on the model and hopefully we can suggest suitable paints. Are you intending to sail the model as if so you need to make sure the hull is watertight before final painting.

Hi
I recently bought the model this week and hope to receive it on Monday next week. I want to paint the hull above and below the waterline. I would like to paint her in Cal Mac/Roy Ritchie hull colour scheme when she sailed on the Clyde. I am unsure what paint colours would be the closest match, and what manufacturer would I use i.e. Revell, Humbro etc, the hull is wooden construction. Can anyone be of assistance ?
