Fairey huntsman windscreen

I've PM'd you so that you can give me your email.

This was mine when bought. Not very fast with the 850 motor and heavy battery. Much better when a fellow club member bought it and fitted it with a brushless motor and Lipo which I'd planned to do.

Thanks chris yes I know the oversized hatches need to go shame really last person put his heart and sole into it but I’ve taken the two Star Wars figures out and the brass cats and dogs that were stuck on it with the vanity mirror lights that were round the windscreen as well . Mite try and salvage the hatches and make them as they should but will probably end up re doing them as they should be the right size to complement the huntsman itself I’ve got a few pics of what I can for free online but as always when you need to see the full plan and size it means sending off for one and paying but still unsure if they have the right size and to scale the parts of wood needed to re do the hole cockpit he’s tried his best the person I bought it off was very nice but I would of done it right the first time save all the work but that’s why I bought it to try and get it to scale as it should the only thing I can’t seem to find is the proper huntsman sign for the side with like the arrow going through the huntsman mite have to get one printed from somewhere I have found the huntsman logos online but nothing else all help is appreciated , wez

Morning Wez. I had one of the 47" but found it a bit big for moving around so sold it and I'm building one at 1:12 now.

That cockpit has definitely got to go and the two oversize and wrongly positioned hatches! 😮

I've yet to tackle the windscreens for any of my builds but I know some folks make a former and gently heat the plastic round it.

The drawings that Cornwall Model Boats sells plans for is the simplified 1:16 version though probably fine for the cockpit and hatches. Anyway, I'll have a look through my Fairey drawings and see what I've got.

Online photos are really good for sorting out the details though.

Thanks Colin it’s going to be the largest boat I’ve ever worked on my first was a huntress a few years back that had been in someone’s shed for nearly 20 years and looked like it had been ran over by a truck but manged to do it justice in the end and sold it to get the Vosper mtb so I e been working up to the huntsman now for almost 5 years it’s going to be hard without any plans to work from so at the minute I’m just going off pics online and YouTube I’m in a few online shops main one being Cornwall model boat shop that sells the plans but I’ve never seen one so not sure if they show to scale what parts are as size right to get it to how it should , so at the minute just doing a bit of restoring to get back on the water it used to be a nitro boat so I’ve taken all the old exhaust out and petrol tank and old wires and connectors so inside near shell but going to sand it all inside as it stinks more like the bottom of an old chip pan lol thanks for help , wez

Wez, your boat is 1/8th scale so should be nice and easy to work on at that size.
Look forward to seeing your progress.
Have to say they are a dream boat, but out of my price bracket, I was lucky enough as a teenager to live aboard one that my dad's company hired for 14 days.
Now I just have the models.
Cheers Colin.

Thanks Colin it’s a 31 and 47 inch length the previous owner bought it off eBay and was in a sorry state and the roof where the cockpit should of been was never cut out so I think he tried to put his own style on it unfortunately giving me a bit of work to do to make it back to how it use to be , I’ve spent most of the week taking all the old cracked windows and frames out and cutting new ones out of ply and acetate for the new windows my last project was the Vosper mtb torpedo boat so I’m not shy to having a go but that was quite smaller than the huntsman 31 which was the boat I had been wanted for years will have a measure up and post result

Never seen this type with single seat cockpit, any further information on your model, all sizes would help greatly.
I have an unfitted screen made of 1.2mm lexan, for my Huntsman 31 model which is 33.8 inches length which is 1/11th scale. I could trace round this and let you have it by post, but it is for the full width cockpit version from Precedent.
Cheers Colin.
