USS BARB.

Beautiful build.
With a low freeboard I would be afraid to put it in the water even if it was calm!
If I did I would have "NO WAKE" signs everywhere.

USS BARB.

Great looking in Fall River Mass we have one. It was in 1965-67 caked zeeloo or sea lion? When I was in navy on Garcia we had it along side. They had Heineken beer we had Coca Cola n we traded. Visited the one here when it was retired. I built this model in pic. It was funny that the same ship wound up in MA. I built blue nose n this one Aluka from Dumas too

vert nice but I think the best way to dust off a sub is to put it under water, LOL. Sorry but I could not help

USS BARB.

Afternoon All.
This morning took down off the shelf and dusted off USS BARB a Gato class submarine.
I built her from a kit several years ago and used to sail her on a regular basis until other projects took over.
I can only really sail on a relatively flat calm day as she has such a low freeboard and is full of lead for ballast.
Weighing in at 4.8kg or 10.5 lbs.
Length 131cms or 4’4”
Beam. 12.5 Cms or 5”.

A non diving model surface skimmer only, unless it all goes wrong.☹️☹️
Two motors.
2 channel Futaba.

Lovely to sail with a very interesting history.

I will pop her in my boat Harbour at some point.
Regards
Bill.
Never give up.It will come right in the end.
