400ml rattle cans from my local Baumarkt (DIY and Builders Hypermarket).
Made by a German company, Peter Kwasny Group - link attached, who also mix perfect matches for auto colours.
Send 'em the paint code from your car registration and you get back an absolute identical with the original. sure there's an equivalent company or several in the UK. Filler primer, white primer and UV blocker clear lacquer from the same company.

Going too dark was one of my concerns which is why I went for Sapphire Blue rather than Oxford Blue in the end. Mind you I'm hand painting so probably thicker coats.

When photographed mine looks darker.

Hmm! Looks like it's already tending towards black Wez.
With 6 coats it might be indistinguishable🤔 Midnight on a moonless night?
Still looked a nice blue with 2 coats.

A word to the wise if I may!
Looks like you are getting some light 'orange peeling'.
Which suggests that you are spraying too thick in one pass.
Possibly too close? Stay about 30cm (1 of His Majesty's feet🙊) off the surface.
Or too slow in the pass?
Can also be caused by the paint not being quite mixed in the can or the pressure is dropping.
TIP: Try standing the can in hot water for several minutes before shaking; to raise the pressure and help thin the paint a little more.

Going darker now after 3 coats maybe 6 will do would you think

Well two coats of Humbrol midnight blue and think I like the colour better than navy blue I got last week will use the navy blue on the boat stand instead of waisting it in the bin

So managed to get two rattle tins of midnight blue Humbrol paint from one of our model shops bit of a drive but glad I went back to see what else they do as most of our model shops up here in Cumbria are just model train related so hopefully get some paint on today

Is it brush or rattle can paint please. And what make.

Definitely the way to go with the mahogany Wez. Here's my Swordsman- still got to do along the rear edge of the cabin roof but like you doing the windscreen first.

My model building stopped for three weeks due to getting the dreaded Covid but will be starting again soon.
