    Hello everyone.
As for the positioning of the tarpaulin, I took a look around and got an idea, but I still have a big doubt.
Usually when the images don't provide details (even when enlarged) I reason logically: I think about how the thing should actually work.
Now, for fixing the tarpaulin, it's easy: a rope can pass under the edge (horizontally) and prevent the cover from flying away. Or a rope passing through the various rings and under the hull (zigzag) blocks the tarpaulin to the hull.
What I don't understand is how they made the two pulley blocks come out of the tarpaulin. I don't think it was punctured because water would have gotten in (and then it would have been impossible to remove the tarpaulin), perhaps there was a cut and a fold on the tarpaulin where the two blocks were.
    Does anyone have a solution?

I am as interested as Alessandro in seeing how the lifeboat is covered and the covering is secured. Also interested in how to make the cover with the tiedown flaps are made. Len

    Hello to all ship modelers.
So far I have only found these two images that can help me, a little, but I still hope to have other images or drawings to compare.

Thanks a lot Doogle, I'm sure they will help me, I'll search through old forum threads and builds in the meantime.
I remember a very good modeler who is building a ship from that period.
    Rest and relax.

Hi Alessandro, I'm not sure if I can help you out, however, I'm sure that there's plenty of good folk on this site who undoubtedly will have a wealth of knowledge to share ๐Ÿ˜‰.

    Hello all the ship modelers.

I asked this same question in the topic about the RC ship model that I am finishing building.

However, I think it went unnoticed, hidden among other discussions, so I am reposting it here in a specific topic.

I ask you if you can share images and/or drawings of lifeboats with canvas and lifeboats without canvas (relating to the period of the second half of the 19th century).
In the first case I want to understand how the sheet was shaped (it seems to me to make a sort of zig zag on the edge of the lifeboat) and how it was tied.
In the second case I want to understand how the interior was made (seats, flooring, oarlocks, etc. etc.).
I have already collected something but not much.

I will attach the ones I already have so you will understand better what I need.
