Hi Brightwork, thank you for your interest but all resolved a few years ago.
It was the old Gracia yacht which is still my favourite! Plan 2107 if memory serves there is a little plastic horror on that plan number now.
As I said plans arrived and I was able to build her up from the bare hull I had been given. She now sits in my Harbour.
All the best.

I found the same some years ago with Graupner. They had no idea about the kits they sold in the 60s. I was after a plan, gave them the number and they sent me a different plan but the number was right. It got sent back and like London buses suddenly 2 sets came to me almost together.
I offered a set to Graupner which they accepted but they went bust a few months later!!!!

It'll be a tough get. Still amazed that Robbe tossed old stock like this into the bin.
Will wonders never cease!
p.s. I joined up on RCUniverse to ask, no help there yet. To add insult to injury my first post was trolled by some gastroenterology outfit. For Chrissakes!

Robbe Modellsport in Austria finally got back to me and was unable to find any documentation of the Topkapi! Dammit! I find this almost impossible to believe! But, it is what it is, I can hack it. But, as it is my first Robbe kit I will continue my search and hope some day to say "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"

OK, it's official the prior owner lost the instructions. And links to Robbe plans that you folks may know of? So far, I am striking out. It's the Topkapi kit#:1128. In the meantime I have become a Robbe member and have contacted corporate directly.
I hope they are helpful.
Thanks gang!

The treat to myself, my first Robbe the Topkapi. Outfitted quite well, deck and hull are pre-joined nicely and is quite robust at 31 inches. The pre-bent rails are a big plus. But, I am in need of a set of instructions. Add it to the list! But, I remain hopeful that the seller can dig them up somewhere. 🤞

Apart from a couple of holidays all this year has been spent working on my son's flat so no time for my hobbies and other interests, including my sports car, motorbikes, photography etc.
I need to finish my 5 ongoing Fairey builds and start and finish 2 others plus my modified and enlarged Stiletto with water-jet project.
And finish a Tamiya RC vehicle I started two years ago!
As we are nearing winter I shall be able to return to my model building.

I stand corrected about spelling. I usually check but that one got by me!
I was a Latin and ballroom dancer for 25 years, 3 times a week so was very fit but my knees played a part in my downfall. At the age of 78 I had to stop! A lot of the aches dissipated but I miss the music. But that was 8 years ago (almost to the day!).
You are never too old! A good mantra to go by. I still have not arranged to go on a Zip wire yet, but most of my 'bucket list' is dealt with.
As a long term member of a model engineering society I take part in several things having retired from the Secretary's job 3 years ago, and now organise speakers for our monthly meetings. I also greet any new members.
I have 'weaponized' my age for when I come across possible new members who have decided that at 74 they are TOO OLD and sit down a lot. This happened a couple of weeks ago to a possible new member. I shamelessly asked him how old he was, 74 he said. Well I am 86 so start enjoying yourself. He visibly 'braced up' and I hope to see him at our forth coming exhibition, which I also manage.
Being alive is not a practice run or a rehearsal it is the Main Event!
We should all have a good reason to get up in the morning, look after your ladies and do not act your age, try one 10 years younger! Age that is!
Another thought. If you want to do something (within reason) do not seek or look for official permission. As the answer usually comes back NO! Just go ahead and do it, and if challenged ask where it says you cannot do it?
Officialdom loves taking the easy solution, of No.
So, I do not plan on dying I shall be there to the end in denial and the beauty of it is you will never hear anyone say "I told you so"!

Great Peejay, an exemplary philosophy and way of taking life.
When you want to undertake the construction of a naval model, know that I will be in the front row following you.
In the meantime, I enjoy your very active presence in this forum, always full of spirit and positive.

I have to agree with you. Many of my friends in the Naval Reserves died when I was in my 50’s, and I retired. I am also 80, which my mother said is ‘an ideal age’ because you can do most anything, and depending on what you do, people will either say, “Wow, she is 80,” or, “What did you expect, she’s 80!”
Mom always had her projects, and was within 2 weeks of hitting 101, so I am optimistic about getting at least one Chris Craft completed, the Dumas Mt Washington built, one Great Lakes Freighter, and the Thermopylae built, and the Edward H - a civilianized Army tug, for which I have corresponded with and received photos from its owner.
Based on my mother’s life, that gives me 21 years to get all this done. One motivation is that my kids don’t really want to inherit unbuilt, or partially built kits, but would find a place for a completed model. Gives me motivation to be building.
‘Nuff said for now.
Pete

Not to be picky, but I believe the correct spelling is dying. "Dieing", is sometimes used to describe shaping material. I guess that some of us model builders may use dieing in our work. Thanks to our English language we get these quirks now and then.
As for the meaning towards death, I completely agree with those that feel that a good hobby (like model boat building) is a healthy step toward longevity. At eighty (I hate to admit it) I've had to give up more physical hobbies. I enjoy building and running my model boats and armor (tanks, etc.), photography, 3D design and printing, video editing, web site work, mowing the lawn (takes a few days longer now), girl watching, and my wife just told me we need a new kitchen faucet (tomorrow's project after the model boat meet).
With all this, I try to get time in with the grandchildren. This afternoon the four month baby was teething and drooling on me.
Almost all my friends are gone, especially those I worked with, around my age, but most of them younger. Almost all that sat around me for many years are gone. I went to the service for a friend (9 years younger) last week. Hadn't seen him in years since I got out of the reenacting hobby. His wife told me he basically wasted away with boredom. Things like that seems to be common lately.
So here is a thought... All these hobby shops drying up and people going into boredom in their final years (Waiting for God?). Would you rather go in the middle of building a model or watching some old movie?

Hi everyone, I have very little time to devote to modeling, but that doesn't worry me as much as the lack of space worries me.
After finishing this naval model in progress, I have many things in mind and I can opt for two restorations and two new projects.
Given how I am, I'm sure that, in the end, I will opt for the creation of the new one and will continue to postpone the restoration indefinitely (or I will restore at the same time as the new one).
But I really don't know where to put other models and that's frustrating.

Still working on the Calypso, plus a submarine, needing to revamp my PT boat and the Orca. But as mentioned in earlier posts, the "ladies" come first and presently driving my wife to a chiropractor. If I don't look after her right, she'd kill me😂😂😂. That would defeat the whole object and the Calypso wouldn't get finished. Have a great weekend folk's.
Hopefully can start some building again 😀

Hello
I still want to finish the Britannia and I want to restore the herring logger "Wotan". But my wife comes first, of course - without her, no thanks.

Still have many plans and models that need rebuilding. My building space got overrun by my former wife, and I am still reorganizing.
Even my completed New England Trawler needs an updated radio and speed control. But I seem to have my mother’s longevity (if the ladies would leave me alone 😉😄).

Amen Roy!!!!!
I have the Naxos on it's stand for a retro fit, a large scale Sopwith Triplane sitting around waiting for me to make a decision, have just blown up a set of plans from of a bootleg Chinese model kit of Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" (I need a laser cutting service for that one!), and am going to pick up a partially built Robbe Topkapi Cabin Cruiser next week!!!
And yes, my wife thinks I'm nuts. But, after the $$$ spent on the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding one week ago I think I deserve the Topkapi!
😂🤣

I caught a snippet on TV where a lady found there were CO emissions in her flat. When told that it was 'The Silent Killer' she said " I can't go yet I have clothes I've still not worn'
My reason would be that I have 6 model boats, 2 in build, 2 on back burner and 2 untouched kits!
What is your reason to ignore the grim reaper?
Roy
