Well I had to go and pick up my daughter just a 5 minute trip. I tried all combinations of glasses and the best was not to use any at all, as I can see like it was 30 years ago.

I used to be in the county rifle shooting team so they expect you to be able to see OK!

A bit of a surprise as without glasses my peripheral vision has also improved.

Just wish they could do the same for my knees!

Hi Len, funny you should say that I was going to remove a lens and try it out. I will refrain for a week from driving and then see how I feel.
Nice to know someone has tried it.

Good news Roy. I know how you feel from experience. They don't want you to drive for a while (can't remember for how long) because they don't want you to damage your healing eye in case of a sudden stop.
Also you may thing about removing the lens of your glasses on the side that was just operated on.

Hi all, thanks for all the good wishes. It is the distance and detail vision that has gone off the scale in a good way for me.

I used to have the TV tuned to vivid, now back to normal and can now appreciate Ultra definition TV. All the whites are whiter and I can read number plates on cars a long way off.

I can just about read small text so will use some old reading glasses until my other eye is done.
I shall be in my shed / workshop this morning to get on with my Wild Duck yacht, Lookinhg forward to seeing if I have made a cock up so far!
A friend had the same op a week before me and he has had the same experience.

I have always appreciated the gift of sight and it looks like I am having a second go at it!
Thanks for your cheery comments

Got my Left eye done last summer. Be sure to use the drops prescribed and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Great Roy! Enjoy those sharp vivid images. First thing I noticed was trees had individual leaves, not a mass of green. (Hhager, you can opt for more expensive single vision lenses where you don't need reading glasses.)

Butttttt when doing your models you need reading glasses. It’s a pain in the butt. Congrats tho almost everyone I know has had it. I’m still ok even at my old age. Wear gradual bifocals have for many decades. I find to do closeup I sometimes take glasses off at times. Keep on building

Hi all I have just had a cataract operation, left eye first the other to follow in 6 weeks.

Twenty four hours later and I can see so well. The world is so bright and colourful it is really wonderful!
No longer need the lights on to do anything I can see all my errors and mistakes much more clearly as well.

They say I am not to drive, well I will give it a week and see how it goes, but I can now just glance up and read a number plate way beyond 20 metres.

Gives you enthusiasm for life!
Regards
Roy
