HiTec Aurora 9 compatible RX

Found a cheaper, but still good quality alternative charger, that seems to do the job. It's an Ansmann, so a well known brand and comes with a selection of Jack plugs and the output polarity can be changed and it will charge 3 - 10 NiMh cells.

I checked that the polarity was in fact correct with my multimeter before connecting up! Battery pack was completely flat so will be a few hours before I can try the Tx. Fortunately NiMh batteries are tolerant of low voltage and hopefully it will be Ok. If not I'll have to get another. At which point a cheap Tx is no longer a bargain!

Bob, that's how it was:
Multiplex began as a small construction company in Perth, Western Australia.
The company was founded in 1962 by John C. Roberts AO.
In 2002, Multiplex was sold to the Hitec RCD USA, Inc. group of companies,
which thus created a European foothold.

With Hitec I read it was more about not being able to build as cheaply as the Chinese as there is is still plenty of sales in the flying community, so they pulled out of Tx and Rx manufacturing. Bit strange though as both my Tx were built in The Philippines!

Still making servos though which is good as I use them exclusively.

Been having fun at the moment, because as well as getting the other Huntress I also got an old Hitec Optic 6 transmitter with it. Didn't need it as I've got an Optic 5 and Flash 8 but felt it a shame not to see if it works and give it some use.

Problem is that the charger is missing and I've had a job finding a replacement. Original are non-existant, apart from in the US (postage is more than the charger) and compatible ones thin on the ground. Think I've found one, but at more than I really wanted to pay. Waiting for an answer of the polarity of the jack plug which needs to be Positive in the centre, though it could easily be changed.

Hello all you seekers!
Like everywhere else, companies selling good equipment are going out of business, here in Switzerland it's model stores. You simply can't find any good and informative successors any more.
It's just a shame that the whole thing is visibly going down the drain.
The clubs are also struggling to find young successors, and it's really difficult to inspire them these days.

A bit sad about that

Good shout, they had one left which is now on its way to me, Hitec have pulled out of the TX/RX Market so they are like hens teeth.

I don't think they do anymore as Hitec stopped producing transmitters and receivers a while back.

A real pity as I use Hitec. Fortunately a neighbour who also does gave me a heads up and we bought a number of Minima Rx as spares and for future builds last year. I've also bought off Ebay when they come up.

I know with some Tx you can get a module which allows to use other manufacturer's modules but I don't know if you can get one for Hitec.

HiTec Aurora 9 compatible RX

I recently acquired a HiTec Aurora 9 9-Channel TX with one 9ch RX
I really rather like the TX it feels like a quality bit of kit and is in super condition, I can't though find a matching 9ch RX are there other brands of RX that happily bind with this Tx?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
